The Hip Symposium Bern successfully attracted a new record of 260 participants this year!
One of the highlights was a live commented pre-recorded surgery. A severe epiphysiolysis of the femoral head was treated by a modified Dunn procedure. Respecting the pedicle for the blood supply to the head, the epiphysis was completed separated from the femoral neck and anatomically realigned.
The
guest of honor was Richard Santore, Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the
University of California, San Diego.
Enthusiastically he taught us about “The
Keys to Happiness in Life & Career”. Other highlights included video
sessions about surgical techniques around the hip and lively case discussions.
The Symposium was rounded up sessions comprising “Glimpses into the Future” and
“Glimpses into the Past”. We all had a wonderful social dinner in a cordial and
warm atmosphere at the Kornhauskeller.
